Irish Christian missionary who served in India for 55 years without furlough. She founded the Dohnavur Fellowship and devoted her life to rescuing children from temple prostitution. She wrote 35 books about her missionary work.

Carmichael gave her entire life to serving the most vulnerable in India. She rescued hundreds of children from abuse and exploitation, establishing a community that still operates today. Her writings on the cost of discipleship continue to inspire missionaries worldwide.
