Biography
American computer scientist, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University, and Turing Award winner (1974). Author of the monumental multi-volume work The Art of Computer Programming, creator of TeX and METAFONT. Widely regarded as the father of the analysis of algorithms.
Faith & Testimony
A devout Lutheran who has been outspoken about his faith throughout his career. Knuth authored 3:16 Bible Texts Illuminated, a book analyzing the '3:16' verse from every book of the Bible with calligraphic art. He delivered a series of lectures at MIT titled 'Things a Computer Scientist Rarely Talks About,' exploring the relationship between faith and computer science. He has said, 'God is real, unless declared integer.'
