English mathematician, physicist, and astronomer who formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation, developed calculus, and made groundbreaking contributions to optics.
Faith & Testimony
Newton wrote more about theology than science. He believed the elegant design of the solar system pointed to God and wrote, 'This most beautiful system of the sun, planets and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being.'
