Biography

American Reformed pastor who served at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia for 32 years. A prolific author, broadcaster, and hymn writer, he was a leading voice for Reformed theology in mainstream evangelicalism. He founded the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology.

Faith & Testimony

Boice was a passionate expositor who preached through entire books of the Bible verse by verse. He wrote commentaries on Genesis, the Psalms, Romans, and many other books. He also wrote hymns, combining theological depth with congregational accessibility. When diagnosed with terminal cancer, he told his congregation, 'If God wants to heal me, great. If not, that's okay too.'
