A lifelong Southern Baptist and born-again Christian whose faith was the defining force of his life. He taught Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia for over 40 years — continuing well into his 90s. His post-presidency of humble service became one of the most powerful Christian testimonies in American political history.
