Watson's A Body of Divinity and The Doctrine of Repentance are prized for making deep theology vivid and memorable. He wrote: 'God's wounds cure, sin's kisses kill.' His gift was making the truths of the Westminster Shorter Catechism come alive for ordinary believers.
