Biography

Anglican clergyman who served as vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge for 54 years. He was one of the most influential evangelical leaders in the Church of England, training a generation of clergy and missionaries. He was a key supporter of the Church Missionary Society and the British and Foreign Bible Society.

Simeon endured years of opposition from his own congregation before winning them over through faithful ministry. His 'Horae Homileticae' (sermon outlines covering the entire Bible) trained thousands of preachers. He also used his position to influence the appointment of evangelical clergy across England, shaping the church for generations.
