Biography

English Nonconformist theologian, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University, and chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. Often called 'the prince of Puritan theologians' for the depth and precision of his doctrinal works.

Faith & Testimony

Owen's works on the Holy Spirit, communion with God, and the mortification of sin remain unsurpassed in depth. He wrote: 'Be killing sin or it will be killing you.' His treatise The Death of Death in the Death of Christ is a definitive defense of particular redemption.
