Biography
Swiss-born American theologian and church historian who produced the monumental 8-volume 'History of the Christian Church,' still one of the most comprehensive church histories ever written. He also edited the 'Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers' series, making patristic writings accessible to English readers.
